What is the Ottawa Ankle Rule?

The Ottawa Ankle Rule is a clinical decision rule used to determine whether patients with ankle or midfoot injuries require radiographic imaging to rule out fractures. It was developed to reduce unnecessary X-rays while maintaining high sensitivity for detecting clinically significant fractures.
